One of the reasons I started this site is to help models who have never done any nude modeling. Adult work can be a bad experience if you do not know what you are doing. There are plenty of great people and companies to work for but the landscape is also populated with dishonest and sinister people who are willing to exploit you for their own personal enjoyment. You are not a prostitute. You are a MODEL/ACTRESS who may agree to nudity under appropriate and agreed upon circumstances.
I strongly suggest reading this page and abiding by the guidelines.
1) Understand your own reasons for doing nude modeling. Is it because the shoot or acting role requires it? Are you doing it solely because you need quick money? Do not remove your clothes in front of a camera if you hate it – for any amount of money. Understanding your own reasons will help you make better choices in the adult modeling world.
2) Create a STAGE NAME or “Alias”. DO NOT USE YOUR LEGAL NAME. Use your stage name for any profiles you post on the Internet and any Adult work.
3) Control your images on this site. Follow the recommendations (uploading Head Shots etc). Make your PUBLIC images softcore or with clothing. Make your full nudes or explicit photos only for MEMBERS.
4) Define your limits! What are you going to do and more importantly – NOT DO? Define these limits and post them on your profile. DO NOT CHANGE THEM AT A SHOOT. Go home and think about it. Think about the bigger picture and the fact that these images or video will be out there for all to see for eternity. If you are ever pressured to change your limits while at a shoot – LEAVE.
5) How to book a shoot. When you are approached by a photographer or any other prospective shooter about a job, follow these guidelines:
* Use EMAIL or MESSAGE system of MMN to define the conditions of the shoot. After you have nailed down the conditions of the shoot, then you may exchange phone numbers and not before!
* Ask for the Photographers resume/portfolio. Find out what level of experience they have. Everything is on the Internet now. Look at their work online.
* Model references. If they are not a known entity or their portfolio seems weak – ask for references on 2 models they have worked with.
* DEFINE THE JOB IN WRITING VIA EMAIL OR MESSAGING, PRINT IT OUT AND TAKE TO THE SHOOT in case there are any “misunderstandings”.
- What? What exactly will you be doing? Photos? How many sets? Video? How long? Do you need to do your own makeup or bring your own wardrobe? What will the content be used for and how will it be sold?
– When? The date, time and how many hours (approximately) will you be there?
– How Much? I recommend getting a rate for the entire shoot and not getting paid by the hour (you could commit for 6 hours and work for 2 hours).
– Form of Payment? Are you being paid by a check or cash? Is it same day pay or payroll 2 weeks later?
- Confirm by phone. After you have solidified the shoot by the written word, either of you may want to call and confirm that you are both living, breathing, easy to work with people
